So the gunners thought it would be a walk-over did they, playing on their home turf. Some left for refreshments 7 minutes before the end of the first half. Dear-oh-dear spoilt little disgruntled emirates.

I salute Rafa and the lads for the holding steadfast and true. Call me old-fashioned but I do like a nice home-grown Liverpool lad scoring for his team. Roy of the Rovers it may be but what's wrong with that?

Sounded like a great match. I say sounded - regretfully I don't have Sky Sports 2. Please let the second leg be played on terrestrial TV

    As scandalous as it might be to say I didn't really spot anything major, just the usual niggling really, although the fans got on his back saying he was diving too easily.

I didn't watch it because I've subjected my family to too much footie lately. having said that I will be going to Wembley this Sunday to watch the mighty Barnsley kick Cardiff back over the welsh boarder (hopefully). You know who Barnsley are don't you? Remember, we sent Liverpool back to the wrong side of the Pennines and Chelsea south of Watford gap therefore banishing them from potential cup glory.

i didn't watch but i thought kuyt scored.. homegrown? everyone seems clear it was a penalty and that pool just defended for the second half. it doesn't really matter - its the second leg that will decide it. we know we can score, torres will also probably score so it just depends who gets the luck on the night. if you get through and reach the final you will play united.. can you beat them? we can but can we beat chelsea, cos you can?

meanwhile.. its back to the emirates on saturday for your chance to make sure you finish above everton.. oh the dizzy heights of liverpool FC
