Finally some recognition for what I believe to be one of best musical talents around - Elbow! A band that stands out in a sea of music mediocrity

With his voice exposing both fragility and grit in one fell swoop, Guy Garvey is one of the most talented, lyrical, poets around today.

It was great to see them win the Mercury Music Prize last night. A long time coming, but if I was Radiohead or Robert Plant right now, I would not feel too disheartened.

I love their unaffected manner, their humble acceptance speech and the fact that winning was "the best thing that had ever happened to them". This band is not too cool for rock school.

Ever original, Elbow released a beautiful track on a previous album called "Grace under pressure". An anthem for these times if ever one was needed. The church inspired choir on that particular track angelically singing...."we believe in love, so fuck you!"

Well done lads. I'll see you all next month at the Camden Roundhouse.
