Purple Dragon had this idea. And very good it is too.
Reasons to be cheerful. I'm not usually a Pollyanna more a pissed-off Penelope but I have carefully avoided the news all this week. This appalling story regarding a very vulnerable young baby and various other young children makes me weep. It's beyond belief. And then of course there's the incessant downward spiral of the economy and debt and job losses.
Right fuck this.
Reasons to be cheeful. Well it is a lovely day in London today despite the family of plastic recycling boxes outside the house. The sky is blue, the air is mild and leaves are still hanging on to the trees. Those leaves against a soothing blue backdrop of sky are balm to eyes. Then (with all the rain) the grass is so green. I feel lucky to be out running and healthy. If I feel tired, I sit in the park and enjoy the trees various autumn colour. It's not very profound at all. But a blue sky and a sunny day teases me into a smile.
The Beatles once sang "because the sky is blue, it makes me cry."
And I decided against buying a newspaper this morning. Nor will I put the TV on.
